Noise comments received from neighbors in October – December 2021 (4Q21) reflect these trends:
- Compared to October – December 2020 (4Q2020), a year-over-year (YOY) increase both in the number of noise comments received and the number of distinct households filing comments. Exactly 100 more comments were filed year-over-year from 10 additional distinct households.
- Breaking out the above data further, 121 (or 84%) of the 144 comments filed during 4Q21 were geographically concentrated in the city of Colton, where 8 distinct households filed comments for the quarter.
- In comparison to July – September 2021 (3Q21), there was an increase both in noise comments received and distinct households filing between the two consecutive quarters (QOQ). There were 120 additional comments and 9 more distinct households filing comments.
The YOY and QOQ increases are attributed to:
- Growth in airport and aircraft operations at SBD,
- Growth in concerns filed by individual households,
- Engaged and concerned community members seeking information about aircraft operations, and
- Ongoing outreach to neighbors to encourage feedback via the Good Neighbor Program.
